The Glass Menagerie

"The Glass Menagerie" wrtitten by Tennesse Williams was my favorite ! It was really inspiring to me because it was reflecting on acheiving greatness and having hope. Laura Wingfield who played the daughter of Amanda Wingfield and the sister of Tom Wingfield was my favorite character. The reason why I looked up to her so much was because of the fact that she suffered from a disease caused pleurosis which is when one of her legs are shorter than the other so it causes her to walk unstably and as she was growing up and going to school she had to use her brace. Even though Laura showed some weakness when she didnt complete school it still doesnt overcome the fact that she tried and also that she has something that she can do which is her glass collection. Laura's personality also shows how strong she is, besides the fact her conversation with Jim telling him how it was a struggle for her with making friends and not blending in back when they were in grade school, she still seems to be a people person. Laura doesnt seem depressed at all she seems happy with life even though she has pleurosis and I know people today that are healthy but still mope around because things dont go their way. So to me Laura is the best character in this short story and I know they are alot more people out here in the world that look up to her she is a great example and an even greater person!
